What is IPTV Smarters Pro?
IPTV Smarters Pro is a third-party media player app developed by WHMCS Smarters. It plays streams from any IPTV provider you have a login for; it carries no content of its own. You sign in with Xtream Codes details (server URL, username, password) or an M3U link, and the app organises what the provider supplies into Live TV, Movies and Series tabs with an electronic programme guide. On iPhone, iPad and Apple TV the equivalent app from the same developer is called IPTV Smarters Player; the setup is the same.

Download only from these sources. "Modded" APKs from forums are the most common cause of login failures and of apps that stop working after an update.
How to install and log in
- Install the app from the store for your device in the table above. On Fire TV, search the Appstore first; use Downloader only if the app is not listed.
- Open the app and accept the terms screen. Choose Add New User, then Login with Xtream Codes API.
- Enter the details from your e-mail. Any name in the first field, then the username, the password, and the server URL exactly as sent, including http:// and the port number if present.
- Press Add User. The app downloads the channel list, movie and series catalogues. Wait for the counter to finish; on first login this can take a minute or two.
- Open Live TV. Categories appear on the left (live sports, movies, series, kids and family, news, documentaries). Select one and pick a programme.
Using an M3U link instead? Choose Load Your Playlist or File/URL at step 2 and paste the link. Xtream Codes is the better choice when both are available, because it loads the EPG and the movie and series catalogues automatically.
Setting up the EPG
With an Xtream Codes login the programme guide loads on its own. If the guide is empty:
- Open Settings (gear icon on the home screen), then EPG or General Settings.
- Enable Load EPG and set the refresh interval.
- Return to the home screen and press Install EPG or Refresh EPG.
- Wait a few minutes; the first guide download is the slowest.
- Open Live TV again and switch to the EPG view with the on-screen button.
Where the EPG has gaps for a particular programme, that is the source, not the app; the live stream itself is unaffected.
Useful IPTV Smarters settings
- Player: under Settings, Player Selection, keep the built-in player unless a stream stutters; then try the alternative decoder.
- Parental control: Settings, Parental Control, set a PIN and lock categories; useful on a child's device on a 3-screen family plan.
- Favourites: long-press any channel to add it to Favourites so you are not scrolling categories every evening.
- Catch-up: where the source offers it, a clock icon appears next to the channel in the guide.
- Multi-screen: Smarters can show up to four streams in one window, but each counts against your plan's screen limit.
IPTV Smarters Pro not working? Fix it in order
Work down this list; most problems are solved by the first three.
- Login rejected or "invalid details". Re-type the server URL and password; check for a stray space, a capital letter or a missing port. Copy from the e-mail rather than retyping if you can.
- Channels listed, nothing plays. Confirm the device is online by opening another app. Then confirm your screen limit is not already in use on another device.
- Buffering or freezing. Move the TV to Ethernet or closer to the router; test the same channel on your phone over mobile data to see whether your home network is the cause. Our IPTV not working checklist has the full routine.
- App crashes on open or shows "has stopped". Clear the app's cache (device Settings, Apps, IPTV Smarters, Clear cache). If that fails, clear data and log in again.
- Black screen with audio, or wrong aspect ratio. Switch the decoder under Settings, Player Selection.
- EPG missing. Follow the EPG section above; allow a few minutes after the first login.
- App gone from the store. Store availability changes; install from the developer's site via Downloader on Fire TV, or switch to TiviMate on Android devices.
